Juliette LOVES goats

Since the Hopkinton Fair, Juliette has been asking about the new friends she made, the goats. I make no mistake here, Juliette LOVES goats...more than Ginger!

When we visited the Hopkinton Fair in late August, Juliette only wanted to do one thing, visit the animals. Thats fair, I thought. Who cares about the rides! The food! The sights! ...or those interesting characterers we like to call carnies. You know the ones. Missing teeth, alcoholic breath, ripped clothes and dirty hands. Yes, those ones! The ones we trust to keep us alive on those crazy 30 mi/hr rides!

Anyway. At Hopkinton Fair they had a goat pen where people could actually GO IN to feed, pet, and look at the goats. In Juliette's case... to ride, chase, pick up, and lay on top of the goats. This girl is serious about her goats!

Hiking Mt. Pisgah

On Labor Day we hiked Mt. Pisgah with our extended family. It was a lot of fun. We've hiked it before and posted about the fire towers on this blog back in May.

Labor Day Weekend, part 3

We are so happy that we could witness the baptism of our nephew, Nathan. We are very proud of his decision to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. What a good example he is for his younger cousins and brothers.

Labor Day Weekend Part 2

We decided to take advantage of our four-day weekend by taking a trip to Maine to visit our family. On our way to my in-law's home, we stopped in Portland to catch a Sea Dogs game. Actually, this game had been rescheduled three times after our first rain-date back on Father's Day. We met up with Daniel's father, Robb, for 1994 night at Hadlock field. The Sea Dogs were wearing their old teal and grey uniforms.

Labor Day Weekend, The Park

Part One:
My family hates being late (or maybe thats just me). I'm always 10-15 minutes early for appointments and meetings. Though, church is an exception. We're usually late. Historically, Labor day weekend traffic is brutal. Everyone knows that right? In order to make the 7 o'clock Sea Dogs game in Maine, our family budgeted four hours, it usually takes 1 3/4 hours to arrive in Saco from Concord. We left New Hampshire at 3:00 and arrived in Portland at 5:00, even with the holiday traffic, two pee stops, and a quick meal at Irving! With 1 1/2 hrs to kill before the game, my husband brought us to a park near Hadlock field. I had never been to this park before, but it is simply amazing. And huge. There is a large playground for the kids, several basketball courts, a paved running/bike trail, duck pond, and this wading area for kids. It was a great place for us to stretch our legs and let Ginger run around before her evening stay in the car. Inhumane, I know. Thankfully, it was a cool night.

First Day of School

On August 24th, just 13 days after she turned 5, Juliette started kindergarten.

I'm not going to go into details about how I felt about sending Juliette to kindergarten. Let's just say...I'm still adjusting. Juliette on the otherhand, is a natural. She loves school, she loves learning. She's very intelligent and the kindergarten environment will stimulate and encourage personal growth. I think I made the right choice!
